Camp Programming

Our camp programs give pediatric patients a safe, tailored, and supportive space to learn, explore, and grow — helping them build confidence, leadership skills, and lifelong friendships.

Summer camp is a time to have fun, make friends and gain new skills. But most importantly, it’s a time for pediatric patients to gain positive experiences in a safe environment tailored to their diagnosis.

In partnership with illness-based summer camps across the United States, MATIO offers MATIO Method workshops to camp participants and its’ staff. The MATIO Method is an evidence-based, non-contact form of martial arts adapted for all children regardless of physical limitations. Campers learn the MATIO Method, focusing on different meditations, breath work, and movement techniques to help lower pain and ease their response to stress.

We offer a variety of opportunities to collaborate, including virtual and in-person options, that can be tailored to your unique camp schedule and programming needs.
