Job Description
MATIO | Kids Kicking Cancer is hiring Part-Time Martial Artists to teach our therapeutic, non-contact martial arts program to pediatric patients and families in Savannah, GA; and Chicago, IL.
This role involves working in hospitals, classes, and virtual settings and offers flexible weekday scheduling based on availability and program needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Teach breathing, visualization, relaxation, and therapeutic martial arts techniques
- Empower children through non-contact martial arts (not self-defense)
- Provide compassionate, patient, and empathetic instruction
- Work with children of varying abilities and medical conditions
- Maintain professional relationships with hospital staff, families, and MATIO team members
- Adapt teaching methods to meet individual patient needs
Qualifications
- Black Belt Certified Martial Artist (required)
- Experience teaching martial arts to children
- Comfortable working in hospital environments
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft applications, Zoom)
- Ability to travel to hospitals within your local region
Preferred
- Experience in pediatric or psychosocial support settings
- Flexible weekday availability
- Martial artists who teach or run schools in the late afternoon/evenings
